"Bayern München is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and so is Real Madrid," said Alaba, who spent 13 years at Bayern, in an interview with Kicker.
"There isn't much of a difference. Nevertheless, everything is a bit bigger here at Real, without being disrespectful to Bayern," he added.
"From my first day here, I first a special aura and atmosphere. You notice the history of this club when you walk around the training ground or through the city."
The 29-year-old Austrian international has featured 13 times for Real Madrid so far, racking up a goal and two assists.
