Jesse Marsch is set to lose his job as RB Leipzig coach after Friday's 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin, according to Sky Germany.

Speaking after Leipzig's third league defeat in a row, club CEO Oliver Mintzlaff refused to guarantee that Marsch would stay in charge, telling DAZN:

"We won't bury our heads in the sand and wait until Christmas. We have to think about things and everything is on the table."

Leipzig finished in second place last season under Marsch's predecessor and current Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann, but currently sit just 11th.

At the same time, Leipzig no longer have a chance of making the knockout stages of the Champions League, having taken four points from five games in an admittedly tough group featuring Manchester City, PSG and Club Brugge in addition to themselves.
