Bayern Munich’s highly-rated midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic will not be an option for the first games of the upcoming season. The 21-year-old suffered a fracture in his eye socket during training.

Bayern didn’t specify when he’ll be ready to return, but Sky Sport mentioned “three to four weeks” on their report. The player also shared the news with the fans on his Instagram page.

"I got through the surgery well, it's not that bad! I'll be back soon!" said the German international.

With João Palhinha‘s impending move to Tottenham Hotspur, Vincent Kompany will have limited options at the heart of midfield for the Super Cup and the opening games of the Bundesliga season.
