During the summer, Achraf Hakimi left Real Madrid to join Borussia Dortmund on a two-year loan deal.

In an interview with El Pais, the 19-year-old full-back explains that Dortmund coach Lucien Favre's playing style was one of the main factors behind his decision to join the German side.

"I partly came here because of him (Favre). I was thrilled with his philosophy. He likes to have possession. We play an attacking sort of football which demands wingers to run back and forth. But he has also made it clear that I need to improve defensively," Hakimi said and continued:

"For a young player like me, it was the best option. It gave me the chance to play in a team whose playing style suits me. I knew that Dortmund always want to dominate games. Full-backs are very offensive in Germany, and at the same time, I can improve other parts of my game such as my defensive qualities".

So far, Hakimi has made four appearances for Dortmund, scoring once and making two assists.
