Hertha suffer injury blow ahead of derby against Union

Peter Pekarik is a doubt for Hertha BSC's derby clash against Union Berlin after injuring his ankle. Should the veteran right-back fail to recover in time for the game, 18-year-old Julian Eitschberger looks in line to replace him.
Hertha BSC have been hit by an injury blow ahead of their Bundesliga clash with local rivals Union Berlin on Saturday.

Just three days before the derby, Peter Pekarik was forced to pull out of training due to an ankle problem following a challenge from Marc-Oliver Kempf.

18-year-old Julian Eitschberger replaced Pekarik in the A team in training and could make his senior debut if the 35-year-old veteran fails to recover in time, with the out-of-favor Lukas Klünter the only real alternative.

Hertha are also sweating over the fitness of Niklas Stark and Marvin Plattenhardt while goalkeepers Alexander Schwolow and Rune Jarstein will definitely miss out.
