Bayer Leverkusen sporting director Jonas Boldt has ruled out a winter transfer for Leon Bailey.
Apparently, the Leverkusen bosses recently informed Bailey's stepfather and agent Craig Butler of their decision.
"The conversation was good. We all know that Leon will eventually leave. But we have made it clear that a winter transfer is out of the question. He also knows that he has our backing," Jonas Boldt told Bild.
After an impressive 2017/18 campaign, the 21-year-old has failed to live up to the expectations this season so far, having scored just once in 14 appearances. He has started the last five Bundesliga games on the bench.
A source close to Bailey recently told ESPN that the 21-year-old would think about leaving 'Die Werkself' in January if his playing time doesn't improve.
The Jamaican winger, who claims he has previously turned down Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City, is under contract with 'Die Werkself' until 2023.
