American teenage sensation Josh Sargent was handed his debut for Werder Bremen when he was sent on the pitch after 76 minutes of the club's game against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Friday. Two minutes later, the 18-year-old scored to help Werder to a 3-1 win.

That was certainly a debut to remember for Sargent who was chased by a lot of clubs before he agreed to join Werder in September 2017 - and the striker is happy that he did so.

"I've seen many clubs, but Werder are different. I feel at home here, and there's a familiar feeling to it. The fans support the players, even if they don't play well. Everyone breathes fooball here. I love the club," Sargent in an interview with Bild.

The 18-year-old could be in Werder's squad once again for the upcoming game against Dortmund on Saturday although head coach Florian Kohfeldt won't guarantee anything.

"I fully trust the kid," Kohfeldt told Bild and added:

"He could be in the squad against Dortmund. But if not, it's not the end of the world."

Despite his young age, Sargent has already made six appearances for the U.S. national team, scoring two goals.
