The Bundesliga's best goalkeepers and centre-backs in the 2018/19 season so far

Kicker has ranked the best Bundesliga goalkeepers and centre-backs in the first half of the 2018/19 season.

Every six months, Kicker releases a ranking of the best players in the Bundesliga as well as the best German players abroad, dividing them into four categories: 'World Class', 'International Class', 'In the Wider Circle' and 'Field of Vision'.


Today, the German magazine has released the first part of their winter rankings based on the performances in the first half of the 2018/19 season. So far, the Bundesliga's best goalkeepers and centre-backs have been named, ranked and divided into the four categories.

According to Kicker's evaluation, Borussia Dortmund's Roman Bürki was the best keeper in the first half of the season. Meanwhile, Bayern München star and Germany captain Manuel Neuer doesn't even make the list.

Looking at the list of centre-backs, Eintracht Frankfurt's Makoto Hasebe grabs the top spot ahead of Borussia Mönchengladbach's Matthias Ginter.
