Report: Hannover 96 target Hoffenheim's Grifo

Hannover 96 have already made a couple of signings in January, but have more names on their wishlist - including Hoffenheim's Vincenzo Grifo.

Hannover 96 have already announced two signings this month in the form of Nicolai Müller (Eintracht Frankfurt, loan) and Kevin Akpoguma (Hoffenheim, loan) - but sporting director Horst Heldt has more names on his shortlist.

One of them is Hoffenheim's Vincenzo Grifo, Kicker understands.

"There is no lack of ideas," Heldt said in an interview with Kicker.

Hannover already wanted to sign Grifo in the summer, but the midfielder was snapped up from Borussia Mönchengladbach by Hoffenheim instead.

Since then, Grifo hasn't exactly played a prominent role at Hoffenheim and has been limited to just 10 appearances in all competitions under Julian Nagelsmann.

The question is if the 25-year-old midfielder would be interested in joining Hannover - and if a deal would be possible from a financial point of view.

Under all circumstances, Hannover will certainly not act on the transfer market until the team return from their training camp in Spain on January 10, club boss Martin Kind has underlined.

"We'll have a look and then decide if we still want to do something," Kind told Bild.
