Official: Bensebaini joins Dortmund on a free

Borussia Dortmund made their first summer blockbuster signing official on Monday afternoon.
Algerian left-back Ramy Bensebaini's move to Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer is finally through. The 28-year-old signs a new four-year-deal with the Westphalian giants that will take him through the end of the 2027/28 campaign. With an estimated market worth of €20 million, Dortmund have secured one of the most valuable Bundesliga professionals available free-of-charge this offseason.

"I don't need to say many words about the allure of Borussia Dortmund," Bensebaini noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "I've felt the extraordinary atmosphere at Signal Iduna Park pushing the team myself as a visiting player. I know what BVB is capable of and I'm sure that as a team we will build on the past second half of the season. I can't wait to be part of BVB myself, to play for titles and experience that special atmosphere in Dortmund."

"Ramy is a player in his prime," BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl added, "We are certain that his sporting development is not yet complete. In our discussions with him, we have seen his absolute determination to attack and compete for titles with Borussia Dortmund. We are very much looking forward to working with a professional who has a good balance between defensive and offensive play."
