German journalist Jannis Klimburg of Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that 1. FC Union Berlin have leapt ahead of the likes of 1. FC Köln and 1. FC Heidenheim and are about to secure the services of in-demand SV Wehen Wiesbaden striker Benedict Hollberbach. The German Champions' League representatives should, per Klimburg, unveil the 3. Liga star as a new player soon.

As to what Union plan to do with the 22-year-old, Klimburg reports that Hollerbach may still be loaned out by his new club as his initial prospects for playing time in Köpenick remain slim. Union have already procured additional attacking assistance for the new campaign in the form of Danish striker Mikkel Kaufmann and still carry attackers Sheraldo Becker, Jordan, Kevin Behrens, Jamie Leweling on the roster.

There continues to be chatter in German rumor mills that Union are potentially interested in procuring Southampton striker Paul Onuachu and die Eisernen are also linked with a swoop for Chelsea's David Datro Fofana in the event that Becker departs. Oliver Ruhnert and the FCU administrative team are said to be considering a loan arrangement for the EPL Ivorian.
