Rafael Borré joined Werder Bremen on loan in the summer after a difficult 2022/23 campaign with Eintracht Frankfurt that saw him slip down the pecking order - and so far, he's happy at the Weserstadion.

"The most important thing was that Bremen opened the door for me to get more playing time," Borré told Sport Bild.

He added that he has "the feeling of being needed" and would like to stay at the Weserstadion beyond the end of the season.

"I've also told my teammates and the people in charge," he stressed.

Going from being a key player for Eintracht in the 2021/22 season to a substitute in the following campaign was difficult for the Colombian forward.

"That's the brutality of the football business. It was the first time in my career that I found myself in such a different situation so quickly," he said, going on to criticize Eintracht:

"I was told in 2022 that I was important for the team, but I didn't play the role I had hoped for.

"At the beginning of this season, the people in charge were very honest and made it clear to me that I wouldn't be playing much. I would have liked that honesty a year earlier," emphasized Borré.
