"Of course, there were things to consider," Klostermann noted in a statement accompanying the signing, "That's why I thought a lot about my next step with my family and eventually decided that RB Leipzig is still the right place for me."
"It's a great feeling to know that our journey together is going to continue for the next few years," the 22-times-capped German international continued," "This summer marks my ten-year anniversary at the club. The club and the management made it clear how much they rely on me here."
"We've always stressed that a key personnel decision for us was getting Lukas Klostermann to stay at the club for as long as possible," sporting director Rouven Schröder aded, "We've managed to do just that right before the season restarts."
Schröder specifically noted that club management took pride in successfully inking core players Yussef Poulsen, Willi Orban, Kevin Kampl, and now Klostermann to contract extensions. The RB quartet are now all tied down to the club with long-term deals
"We've ensured that four key players who've been with the club for a long will continue to form the core of the squad," Schröder said, "It's very special to have lads who've been with us every step of the way for a number of years still in the team."
