Reitz signs new long-term contract with Gladbach

Rocco Reitz and Borussia Mönchengladbach have agreed on a contract extension until 2028.
Rocco Reitz has committed his long-term future to Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The Bundesliga side announced on Thursday that the central midfielder has extended his contract by a further two years until 2028.

"Rocco Reitz is a symbol of the Borussia way, which we have talked about a lot in recent months," said Gladbach's sporting director Roland Virkus.

"It fills us with joy and pride to be able to put these words into action with this contract extension.

"Rocco's development, especially in recent months, has been sensational and exemplary, and the fact that he sees his long-term future at Borussia is a great signal for the entire club."

Reitz has been one of the brightest spots in Gladbach's campaign so far, fighting his way into the starting lineup after coming through the youth ranks. The 21-year-old midfielder said of his contract extension:

"Borussia is my second home. I love the club. I love the city. My family and I feel very much at home here. This contract extension is perfect for me."
