Hoeness gives update on Guirassy and Ito ahead of Leverkusen showdown
VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness has given an update on Serhou Guirassy and Hiroki Ito following their return from international duty.
Serhou Guirassy and Hiroki Ito have returned to Stuttgart after playing at the Africa Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup, respectively.
At a press conference on Monday, VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness spoke about the duo's chances of facing Bayer Leverkusen in the DFB-Pokal quarterfinals on Tuesday.
"We have to wait and see if Serhou Guirassy can play. We'll assess him. He has also been struggling with a stomach bug," Honess told reporters.
"Hiroki Ito is in the squad. He makes a good impression, but he played in the Asian Cup and had a long journey back. I can't say yet if he'll start. We'll decide tomorrow. He's definitely an option," said the Stuttgart coach.
