Anton on Hoeness to Bayern links: "only logical"

Waldemar Anton thinks it's "only logical" that Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeness is being linked with the Bayern job.
Sebastian Hoeness' Stuttgart side have exceeded all expectations this season and are third in the Bundesliga after 23 games.

With Bayern looking for a coach to replace Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season, Hoeness' name has been mentioned as an option.

And Stuttgart captain Waldemar Anton can see why the nephew of Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeness and former Bayern reserves coach is being linked with the job.

"I think word has got around about the great job our coach is doing. So it's only logical that he's one of the candidates at FC Bayern," Anton told Sport Bild, adding:

"But I notice every day how much Sebastian Hoeneß enjoys his work at VfB and how much he identifies with the team. He feels very much at home in Stuttgart.

"FC Bayern is a big club, but I hope for our sake that it doesn't come to that and that the coach stays with us for a long time."

Hoeness won the 3. Liga with Bayern's reserves in the 2019/20 season. He went to Hoffenheim between 2020 and 2022 before moving to Stuttgart in April 2023.
