After three consecutive defeats, it was announced that Thomas Tuchel would be stepping down as head coach in the summer.
Since then, however, Bayern have managed to right the ship and are now coming off three comfortable wins over Lazio, Mainz and Darmstadt.
Dier has played a part in that, starting every game at centre-back since Bayern's last defeat, a 3-2 loss to Bochum a month ago.
"There is obviously a difference between my personal situation and that of the team. Personally, I'm happy with the way things have gone for me," Dier told Kicker, reflecting on the current situation at the club.
"But the team is much more important and everyone knows we've had a difficult two months. The results weren't right, then came the announcement of Thomas Tuchel's departure in the summer."
Despite the chaos and fluctuating results, Dier feels very much at home in his new surroundings.
"I love being here at this club. I completely identify with the values, the culture and the philosophy of this club. I think I fit in very well here. I feel incredibly comfortable," he said, adding:
"I love the city! Munich is much quieter than London, the traffic isn't as bad. I'm someone who prefers to be out in the countryside rather than in the city, so there are lots of beautiful places around Munich that I've already been able to visit".
