Bayern confirm departure of Franck Ribery

Bayern München have announced that Franck Ribery will leave the club in the summer.

Franck Ribery will leave Bayern München when his contract runs out in the summer, the club have confirmed.

That means the 36-year-old will say an emotional goodbye to the club he joined from Marseille back in 2007.

"When I came to Bayern, it was a dream come true. It won't be easy to say goodbye, but we must never forget what we've achieved together. we've won so much together - more than 20 honours," Ribery said, as quoted by the club.

Ribery will leave the club along with Arjen Robben whom he has played with for the past 10 years.

"Franck and Arjen are great players. FC Bayern owes a lot to both of them and we will give them a wonderful and emotional farewell. They've helped shape FC Bayern's most successful decade with fantastic football," Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

The French winger has made 422 appearances for Bayern with 123 goals and 183 assists to his name.
