Löw: If Götze continues like that, he will be back in the national team
Joachim Löw says he will call up Mario Götze for the national team again if the Borussia Dortmund star continues his current form.
Mario Götze wasn't called up for the German squad for the upcoming games in June against Belarus and Estonia, but he's likely to return to the national team in the future, says Germany coach Joachim Löw.
The 26-year-old, who hasn't been part of the German national team since November 2017, has been in fine form in the second half of the 2018/19 season in particular, and Germany coach Joachim Löw is keeping an eye on the Borussia Dortmund star.
"I'm really happy for Mario. I've noticed in the past few months that he looks very dynamic and fit. If he continues like that, he'll come back," Löw told ARD.
Götze has made 63 appearances for 'Die Mannschaft', scoring 17 goals.
