Wolfsburg exploring routes to sign Seelt permanently from Sunderland

The Netherlands defender has laid claim to a spot in VfL's backline and impressed greatly since doing so.

VfL Wolfsburg are said to be extremely happy with the performances of Jenson Seelt who is currently with the club on loan.

The Bundesliga side have opened talks with AFC Sunderland over a permanent deal for the centre-back, as reported by Sky Germany.

It is unknown whether the newly promoted Premier League club can envisage a future with the 22-year-old in their team. 

Seelt started for the Black Cats in their first game back in the English topflight before joining the Lower Saxony club on loan. 

The Netherlands centre-half has seen his stock rise at Wolfsburg, making seven consecutive starts in the Bundesliga. 

Seelt originally signed for Sunderland from PSV Eindhoven in 2023 for around €2million, while his contract with runs the club until 2028.
