Xaver Schlager feels he has taken a step closer to his dream of playing for Arsenal by joining VfL Wolfsbrug from Red Bull Salzburg.

Speaking to Kicker, the 21-year-old reveals he has supported Arsenal since he was a child and that he dreams of representing 'The Gunners' in the future.

"As a boy in Austria, you already start dreaming of making it abroad at the age of seven. The league just isn't that attractive," Schlager said and added:

"I haven't reached my final goal yet, now the next goal is coming.

"I've been a fan of Arsenal since I was a child. That's my dream club, and it's my dream to get to play there," he revealed.

Wolfsburg paid €15 million to bring Schlager to Germany. He's under contract with 'Die Wölfe' until 2023.
