Lars Bender: We have to take some pressure off Kai Havertz

Lars Bender has called for patience with Kai Havertz.

Bayer Leverkusen captain Lars Bender believes Kai Havertz has too much pressure on his young shoulders.

Havertz has emerged as a star for both club and country at the age of just 20, but Bender believes it's important not to expect too much from the youngster at this early stage of his career.

"We have to take some pressure off him," Lars Bender said in an interview with Sky and continued:

"He should have the feeling that he's still a young talent who is allowed to have games that aren't so great and moments when he doesn't shine."

Havertz has scored three goals and made one assist in 10 appearances for Leverkusen this season.
