Could Pep Guardiola return to Bayern?

Pep Guardiola is being linked with a return to Bayern München.
Pep Guardiola is one of three preferred candidates to take over the position as Bayern München coach at the end of the season, according to Sport Bild.

'The Bavarians' are also considering Erik ten Hag from Ajax and Paris Saint-Germain coach Thomas Tuchel, as per the report.

Hansi Flick has done well on an interim basis, winning both of his games in charge after Niko Kovac was relieved of his duties as Bayern on November 3.

Speaking after Bayern's 4-0 win over Dortmund, club president Uli Hoeness said that Flick could give the club time to look for a 'long-term solution' who could take over in the summer of 2020.

Guardiola worked as the Bavarian club's coach from 2013 to 2016 and has stayed in regular contact with the Bayern bosses after his switch to Manchester City.

According to the report from Sport Bild, the Bayern bosses have noticed that Guardiola is growing increasingly unhappy in Manchester during his fourth season at the club.

The question is if Guardiola could imagine a return to Munich at all. The 48-year-old, whose contract with City runs until 2021, is said to be considering the possibility of coaching a national team when his time in Manchester is up.
