Hertha BSC coach Ante Covic has confirmed that Arne Maier could make his long-awaited return from injury in Sunday's Bundesliga game against Augsburg.

Maier is making good progression in his recovery from a long-term knee injury, and although the midfielder isn't quite ready to play 90 minutes yet, he could potentially make his first appearance of the season on Sunday, says Covic.

"I don't think it would make much sense to let Arne play for 90 minutes now. But he's an option for the squad," the Hertha coach told reporters at a press conference today, according to Ligainsider.

"He has been able to take part in everything we've done over the last few weeks without any problems," he added.

The 20-year-old played 26 games for Hertha last season.
