Bayern München sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has defended Michael Cuisance's decision to join the German champions from Borussia Mönchengladbach in the summer.
The 20-year-old, who has made just two appearances as a substitute for Bayern so far, has faced heavy criticism following his transfer, with former teammates and pundits claiming that it would have been better for his development if he had stayed at Gladbach.
But Salihamidzic is confident the young midfielder has the potential to succeed at Allianz Arena with time.
"'Micka' is a really good boy. He has potential," the Bayern boss told reporters ahead of the club's Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.
"I'm sure that he will work on taking the first step at FC Bayern with the top players that are here. We're expecting a lot from him, and I'm happy he's here," Salihamidzic added.
Cuisance has played for Bayern's reserves in recent weeks.
