FC Lorient have completed the signing of Abdoulaye Faye on loan for the 2025/26 season, the Ligue 1 club have declared.

Faye, who signed a five-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen just last month, is excited about the opportunity to play in France.

“FC Lorient is a renowned club in the French league which has seen a good number of very good players come through.

"Going on loan to them is a real opportunity for me to continue my progression in a top 5 European league, within a quality squad.

"Being able to do the training camp with my new teammates is a chance, it will accelerate my integration,” he explained.

Die Werkself's managing director of sport Simon Rolfes believes Faye has “great potential and the quality to become an important part of our squad in the future”.
