RB Leipzig have signed a number of players from their Austrian sister club RB Salzburg in the past and are now understood to be interested in Erling Haaland.

And according to Haaland's coach at RB Salzburg, Jesse Marsch, the 19-year-old would be wise to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Dayot Upamecano, Amadou Haidara and Hannes Wolf.

Marsch, who spent the 2018/19 season as an assistant coach at RB Leipzig, told Omnisport:

"For me, Leipzig is a great club for any player. Especially for a young player.

"In theory, it's a great fit for Erling. The people at the club in Leipzig are really good people. They are so focused on the development of players, taking care of players and on professionalism. The standard in Leipzig is so high," Marsch said.

Borussia Dortmund are also said to be part of the race for the youngster's signature.
