Guido Burgstaller is going through the most difficult spell of his career

Guido Burgstaller is frustrated that he hasn't hit the back of the net in the Bundesliga this season.
Schalke 04 striker Guido Burgstaller admits it's a growing frustration for him that he's yet to score in the Bundesliga this season.

Asked if he feels he has been going through the most difficult period his career so far, Burgstaller told Sky:

"Yes, I would say so. I didn't play much for Cardiff City where I was demoted to the reserves after just four or five weeks. But I've already played a number of games this season, and unfortunately I haven't scored yet.

"On the bright side, I have been involved in many chances. But I haven't been able to do what has been my strength in recent years - scoring from close range. I've begun to feel insecure in those situations. Until I have to shoot, everything has been fine and worked really well," Burgstaller said.

The 30-year-old scored four goals in the Bundesliga last season.
