Bayern have been in excellent form in recent months, winning their last eight games in all competitions, and Matthäus expects the league leaders to continue their winning streak when they face second-placed RB Leipzig, who have struggled in recent weeks.
"Anything but a clear victory for Bayern would be a big surprise to me," Matthäus wrote in a column for Sky and continued:
"There are several reasons for this. Bayern currently have a clear advantage over RB when it comes to their performance curve, joy of playing, dominance, confidence, cohesion and organisation on the pitch."
Bayern are one point clear of Leipzig at the top of the table ahead of Sunday's game.
