Report: No Witsel medical today
Axel Witsel will not have his medical at Borussia Dortmund today, Kicker understands.
Yesterday, Belgian media outlet RTBF claimed that Axel Witsel would have his medical at Borussia Dortmund today. However, according to Kicker, the report is premature, and the midfielder won't be in Dortmund today.
Witsel, who is under contract with Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian, is said to have various European clubs to choose between, and Dortmund are just one of them.
It has been reported that Witsel has a €20 million release clause in his contract, but according to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad his Chinese employer denies the validity of the clause.
The 29-year-old central midfielder joined Tianjin Quanjian in January 2017.
