Emre Can fired up to beat Bayern as he targets Bundesliga title with Dortmund

Emre Can is fired up to defeat his former club Bayern München at Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Emre Can wants to take an important step in the title race by beating Bayern München in Tuesday's top-of-the-table clash at Signal Iduna Park.

Can and Dortmund currently sit second in the Bundesliga table, four points behind league leaders Bayern.

And looking ahead to the fixture in an interview with Sport Bild, the German international speaks about his winning mentality and desire for silverware.

"Teams that want to win titles have a certain aura about them, even in training. In my first weeks at BVB, I felt this was maybe missing a little bit, but that has definitely changed in the meantime. Whether I have made my contribution to this, I cannot say," Can said.

"The truth is, I always want to win, and I've often been told that it shows when I'm on the pitch. I switched to BVB because I want to win titles, not because I wanted to consolidate the second place behind Bayern. That's why we need to win next week," added the former Bayern midfielder, who joined Dortmund from Juventus in January.

"I had four great years at Bayern, became a man there and am grateful to the club for many things. But now I'm wearing the BVB shirt and will give everything to beat Bayern on Tuesday," Can said.

Before facing Bayern next week, Can and Dortmund take on Wolfsburg on Saturday.
