Karim Bellarabi looks set to sign a new deal with Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen are understood to be close to extending Karim Bellarabi's contract.
Karim Bellarabi is on the verge of extending his contract with Bayer Leverkusen, according to Kicker.

Leverkusen are said to have reached an agreement in principle with the 30-year-old, whose current deal expires in 2021.

"You haven't come far until you sign something," Leverkusen sporting director Simon Rolfes told Kicker when asked about Bellarabi's contract situation.

Bellarabi, who is set to miss Thursday's Europa League last-16 second leg against Rangers due to muscular problems, has played 38 games in the 2019/20 season, racking up six goals and 12 assists.
