David Alaba speaks out on his future: 'I'm hopeful we can find a solution quickly'

Bayern München star David Alaba wishes to have his future decided as soon as possible amid talks with the club over a potential contract extension.
David Alaba has broken silence on his ongoing ongoing contract negotiations with Bayern München.

Bayern and Alaba, who has one year left on his current deal, have struggled to find common ground on a contract extension so far, with the 28-year-old's wage demands understood to be a sticking point.

Bayern München honorary president Uli Hoeness recently expressed frustration with the negotiations, blasting Alaba's agent, Pini Zahavi, as a 'greedy piranha'.

Alaba's entourage have since hit back at Hoeness, and the Austrian international now speaks out on his situation himself.

"I wish that my contractual situation wouldn't be handled in public. A few statements and reports from the last few weeks have surprised and even hurt me. Many things that are being written and said at the moment are simply not true," Alaba told Bild and added:

"I'm hopeful we can find a solution quickly so that the club, the people in charge, my teammates and the fans know where they stand. I have been wearing the legendary red jersey for twelve years. I have done so every single day with dedication, pride and passion, and I still do. The well-being of this fantastic club is simply above all things and is very important to me."
