Poulsen hasn't been in team training since he picked up a minor thigh strain in last week's 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen, and it's still uncertain if he will be fit in time for the weekend.
'Die Roten Bullen' have provided an update on the Danish international today, stating that a decision will be made on his involvement after a check on Friday.
If Poulsen isn't fit to start the game, new signing Alexander Sørloth could play in his place.
RB Leipzig are also sweating over the fitness of Hwang Hee-chan, head coach Julian Nagelsmann said at a press conference today.
The 24-year-old is struggling with a hip problem and hasn't been in team training this week either.
Meanwhile, club captain Marcel Sabitzer is set to miss out once more, and the same goes for Ibrahima Konaté and Konrad Laimer.
