Peter Bosz: 'It was a top game, but not top football'

Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz expressed disappointment following his side's defeat against RB Leipzig.
Bayer Leverkusen coach Peter Bosz wasn't impressed with the quality of football displayed in his side's 1-0 loss to RB Leipzig on Saturday.

"It was a top game, but not top football. Both teams played one-on-one, spaces were tight, little time. We started out poorly, didn't get any access, but then got into it a bit better and played better going forward," said Bosz, whose side have won just one of their Lass seven Bundesliga games.

"I am convinced that we can look ahead and get back to winning our games. We can go on such a run again if we play better football and win games. And important players will soon be back in the squad," he added.

RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann commented:

"Overall I liked our performance. Of course, it's always nicer if you've got a bigger lead, especially when the opposition is making attacking substitutions. However, we defended well until the end and deserved the win."

Following Saturday's Bundesliga results, Bayer Leverkusen sit fourth while RB Leipzig lie second, seven points behind league leaders Bayern München.
