VfL Wolfsburg centre-back Maxence Lacroix has been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund for a while.

Wolfsburg sporting managing director Jörg Schmadtke, however, doesn't believe Dortmund will be able to match the 21-year-old's price tag.

"I don't think they have the financial power to buy him out of his contract," Schmadtke told Sportbuzzer when asked about Dortmund's reported interest in the defender.

In the same interview, Schmadtke refused to confirm reports that Lacroix has turned down several contract offers from Wolfsburg.

"The only thing I can say in this regard is that the player still has a long contract with us," he said, pointing to the fact that Lacroix's contract expires in 2024.
