Borussia Dortmund face competition from England to sign VfB Stuttgart goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat has told Kicker that 'an English top club' have joined the race for the 23-year-old. Kicker speculates that Tottenham could be the club Mislintat is referring to.

Mislintat also addressed the speculation about Kobel in an interview with Bild, saying:

"The two clubs that are knocking on our door are clearly above us in the food chain. We will discuss this in a good atmosphere. We can be relaxed about it because we have a great chance of being well compensated financially."

Kobel recently confirmed that he's considering a move to Dortmund, admitting that a switch to Signal Iduna Park is 'definitely a topic' for him.

According to reports, it would take an offer of at least €15 million to prize Kobel away from Stuttgart.

Should Kobel leave Mercedes-Benz Arena, he could be replaced by Mainz's Florian Müller, who has spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Freiburg.
