Chris Führich's release clause was activated from SC Paderborn just three weeks ago and now Kicker is reporting that he will be on the move back to the Bundesliga.

The 13 goals and 7 assists in his first full 2. Bundesliga season was just something sports-manager Fabian Wohlgemuth couldn't ignore. Paderborn decided to pay the 700 thousand euros release clause, set by parent club Borussia Dortmund, even after there were reports that Paderborn simply couldn't afford the 23-year-old.

Now, the saga which was labelled by Kicker as "transfer poker" seems to be finding its climax. There's no secret that Nicolas Gonzalez is highly touted to move away from southwest Germany, and as earlier reported Führich was one of the names on his replacement list.

The contract Führich signed with Paderborn is only for a year, until 2022, so the East-Westphalia side may not want to risk losing the highly-rated winger for a free-transfer next season.

It seems highly likely that Führich will be a Bundesliga player next season and Paderborn will bag some profit, Stuttgart are leading the way towards a possible Nicolas Gonzalez replacement, for a fee that will be very underrated.
