Moussa Niakhaté has hinted he could be tempted to leave Mainz if the right offer comes along.

"If I were approached by another club, I wouldn't just be looking at the league or country. For me, it's all about the sporting project," Niakhaté told Bild.

"I've had talks with [head of sport] Christian Heidel and [sporting director] Martin Schmidt. They know how I feel. Of course I won't reveal the content of the talks."

Niakhaté, 25, was signed from FC Metz for €6 million in 2018 and still has two years left on his Mainz contract.
