Ellyes Skhiri has admitted that he would like to leave FC Köln this summer if the right opportunity arises.

Clubs from Italy and England as well as Sevilla have recently been linked with the Tunisian midfielder, but at the moment, he is still a Köln player.

"I think the situation is clear for me and the club. I'm here and doing my best, but if there is a good opportunity to take the next step, I'm open to it," Skhiri told Bild.

Skhiri started on the bench for Köln's first game of the season, but came on and scored as 'The Billy Goats' beat FC Carl Zeiss Jena on penalties.

"Because the situation with me is unclear, that's understandable, and I accept it. As long as I'm here, I want to help the team, and I'm glad that I have already succeeded in doing so with my goal in the cup.

"If in the end it's the case that nothing happens, then I'll be happy to stay."

Skhiri has two years left on his contract with Köln.
