Mitchell Weiser has told Kicker he wants to leave Bayer Leverkusen.

"I want to feel happy at a club again, and I can only do that if I have the opportunity to play. When it's no longer my performances that decide whether I play, it's time to go," said the 27-year-old.

"For both sides, it's certainly best to end the chapter."

Weiser has played just three minutes under new Leverkusen coach Gerardo Seoane.

He joined 'Die Werkself' from Hertha BSC in 2018 and has two years left on his contract.
