Arthur Vermeeren is leaving RB Leipzig after only one season at the RedBull Arena. The Belgian central midfielder joined Olympique de Marseille with an initial loan deal and an option to buy for the Ligue 1 side.

Marseille, who have an option to sign him permanently for €20 million, will cover his salary. The former Atletico Madrid player hasn’t featured for Leipzig this season with plenty of rumors on his future for a month.

Vermeeren was a regular fixture for Leipzig last season as he only missed six games in all competitions since joining the club. However, he only started 18 times in the league.
