Pavlovic reveals how he found out about his Euro 2024 call-up

Aleksandar Pavlovic has revealed how he found out he had been called up to Germany's Euro 2024 squad.

When Julian Nagelsmann's Germany squad for Euro 2024 was confirmed earlier this month, Aleksandar Pavlovic was one of the names.

In an interview with Sport Bild, the 19-year-old Bayern Munich midfielder revealed how he learned he had been included in the squad.

"I found out in the morning via WhatsApp from Julian Nagelsmann. I was at the Säbener Straße, in the jacuzzi pool," Pavlovic said.

“My pulse immediately went up, I was really happy and immediately called my family and my agents. It was definitely one of the nicest texts I have ever received in my life.”

Pavlovic received his first call-up in March, but was forced to withdraw from the squad due to tonsilitis. As a result, he could make his international debut at the Euros.

"I am a total team player. I'll give my all in every training session, but of course I hope to be on the pitch and get minutes," he said of his role in the team, expressing the hope that he won't be the one player Nagelsmann is forced to leave out of his final squad for the tournament.

“I assume and hope that I will definitely be in the tournament.”
