Speaking at his Thursday presser, RB Leipzig trainer Marco Rose had a chance to address the DFB disciplinary court's rejection of his club's (second) appeal on defender Willi Orban's suspension.

RB Leipzig trainer Marco Rose - thanks to a yellow-red card incurred in his team's league victory over defending champions Bayer 04 Leverkusen - will not have the opportunity to coach his team from the sidelines in the forthcoming league fixture against 1. FC Union Berlin. Speaking at his Thursday presser, the RB gaffer remained perturbed both about his own ban and the DFB court's decision to reject a Leipzig appeal of a two-match-suspension for defensive linchpin Willi Orban.Orban saw a straight red for a tactical foul in the round one victory over VfL Bochum.

The German Red Bulls felt a suspension for two subsequent fixtures to be too harsh and, as a result, lodged an appeal with the DFB disciplinary arm. The German FA officially confirmed a rejection of a second appeal yesterday. Rose fielded questions from journalists about the ruling at his Thursday pre-match-presser. The 48-year-old brought up BVB defender Mats Hummels' red card against his team on match-day 14 last December as evidence that standards weren't being applied uniformly.

"We've been attempting to understand why Willi Orban was suspended for two games and Mats Hummels only one," Rose remarked at the press conference, "Accordingly, we exhausted all avenues [of clarification]. The reasoning remains unsatisfactory for me. [A similar scene] was somehow seen differently last year. I'm in favor of justice. For me, it's a matter of creating uniform applications."
