Desperate to leave Manchester United, Jadon Sancho has recently been linked with a third return to Borussia Dortmund.

According to Bild, a potential deal largely depends on head coach Niko Kovac, who has been granted significant influence over the move.

The German tabloid even describes him as the “decisive factor” in any possible transfer to the Signal Iduna Park for the 25-year-old.

While Sancho’s quality at his best is unquestionable, there are doubts over whether he would fit in under Kovac.

Firstly, Kovac does not typically depend on traditional wingers, and there is internal uncertainty about whether Sancho could flourish in a more central attacking role.

Secondly, concerns exist regarding Sancho’s ability to meet Kovac’s strict demands for discipline and defensive work rate.

The BVB coach expects his attacking players to press aggressively and track back consistently areas where Sancho has previously struggled.

The reported asking price for Sancho is estimated to be around €18–20 million.
