Union set to sign Benes, reports Bild

Hamburger SV midfielder Laszlo Benes is apparently moving to Union Berlin.

According to Bild, Union Berlin have agreed to sign Laszlo Benes from Hamburger SV.

The German tabloid reports that the capital club have triggered a release clause of €5-6 million in Benes' contract.

Benes played a key role for HSV in the 2023/24 season and is moving on after the club missed out on promotion to the Bundesliga.

The 26-year-old, who had 13 goals and 11 assists in the 2. Bundesliga last season, is no stranger to the Bundesliga, having made 65 appearances for Gladbach in the top flight, scoring twice and providing six assists.

Benesi is currently representing Slovakia in the European Championship.
