Kicker Report: Union set to net €4 million for Thorsby

Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that 1. FC Union Berlin are set to pocket €4 million for Norwegian defensive midfielder Morten Thorsby.

Loaned out to Genoa CFC last summer, an automatic purchase clause FC Union Berlin midfielder Morten Thorsby's loan arrangement has reportedly taken effect. Germany's Kicker Magazine reports that the Germany's Köpenick capital city side is set to net €4 million for the Norwegian international they once paid €3 million to acquire. Official confirmation from Italiy's Genoa CFC is still pending. 

The 17-times-capped international made 34 appearances across all competitions for Union during the 2022/23 campaign, scoring one goal and registering one assist. Thorsby enjoyed a successful season in the Serie A, amassing four scorer-points in 24 league appearances. Kicker reports that Thorsby's loan contained an obligatory purchase option if Genoa remained in the top flight.
