WAZ Report: Bochum seek to sign Greek winger

ermany "Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung" reports that VfL Bochum are interested in picking up Greek winger Georgios Masouras on a free.

One of North-Rhine Westphalia's mot reliable dailies links VfL Bochum with the Olympiacos Piraeus winger who scored against the German national team in last Friday night's friendly in Gladbach. NRW Westphalia's "Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung" claims that the relegation playoff winners have expressed intestate in 30-year-old Greek international Georgios Masouras.

The 42-times-capped international is available on a free once his contract with Olympiacos expires at the end of the month. Bochum remain in the market for fresh forces on the attacking flanks. It has already been announced that the expiring deal of Takuma Asano will not be extended. Despite some reports of an about-face, the club and Christopher Antwi-Adjei have also confirmed their separation in recent days.

Masouras is a versatile attacker who can play as a pocket nine in addition to working both flanks. His positional experience is thus not dissimilar from that of Asano. The WAZ report does note that Olympiacos are attempting to extend Masouras' contract and are offering a high salary. A decision from the player is expected soon.
