Following the sacking of Erik ten Hag after just two league games in charge, Bayer Leverkusen are once again searching for a new head coach.
According to Sky Germany, Die Werkself have held talks with former FC Barcelona player and coach Xavi Hernandez.
Marco Rose, who was dismissed as RB Leipzig coach in March, is also being mentioned as a potential candidate.
Meanwhile, Fussballtransfers reports that Leverkusen have held talks with former Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic.
Other names in the early pool of contenders include Roger Schmidt, who coached Leverkusen between 2014 and 2017, and Matthias Jaissle, currently in charge at Al Ahli.
Assistant coach Rogier Meijer is overseeing Monday’s training session.
