The German Football Association (DFB) is wary that the spread of the coronavirus could potentially lead to a suspension of the current Bundesliga season.

"We have to deal with all scenarios in order to be prepared should we have to postpone the season or even terminate it prematurely," DFB general secretary Friedrich Curtius wrote in Kicker and added:

"Of course, our goal remains to finish the season in a regular sporting manner. But the health authorities have the decisive word. It's important and fundamental for us that they make clear and binding decisions.

"We follow their guidelines without ifs and buts and will consistently make adjustments as to the organisation of the games," Curtius wrote.

All games of the Bundesliga's Matchday 26, which will take place from Friday to Monday, will be played behind closed doors.
